China successfully launches Shijian-29 satellites for tech verification

China successfully launched two satellites from the Wenchang Space Launch Site, located in the southern island province of Hainan, on Wednesday. This significant launch involved a modified Long March-7 rocket.
The rocket took off at 6:40 a.m., deploying the Shijian-29A and Shijian-29B satellites into their designated orbits.
These satellites are set to play a crucial role in testing new technologies related to space target detection, which is vital for advancing China’s capabilities in space exploration.
Developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the Long March-7 represents a new generation of medium-sized, high-orbit carrier rockets.
This versatile rocket design allows for either a single satellite or dual satellite deployment in a single launch mission, enhancing operational efficiency.
In the year 2025, rockets developed by CASC achieved the remarkable milestone of completing 73 space launch missions, surpassing the previous record of 51 missions in 2024.
This recent launch also marked the 623rd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, further underlining China's growing expertise in space technology.
As China continues to pursue its ambitions in space exploration, the successful deployment of these satellites contributes significantly to technology innovation efforts within the aerospace sector.
