China successfully launched a Smart Dragon-3 rocket from waters off the eastern province of Shandong on Sunday, deploying a new group of CentiSpace 02 satellites into their designated orbits.

The launch took place at 11:49 p.m. local time near Haiyang City, with the mission organized by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

The Smart Dragon-3, also referred to as Jielong-3, is a four-stage solid-propellant commercial rocket developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.

This rocket is primarily designed for deploying spacecraft into sun-synchronous orbit, as well as low-Earth orbit.

With the capability to deliver up to 1,500 kilograms of payload to an SSO at an altitude of 500 kilometers, the Smart Dragon-3 demonstrates significant advancements in China's aerospace capabilities.
