Dutch Dealer Excited for Chinese NEVs in Europe Market

A Dutch auto dealer has expressed a positive outlook regarding the future of Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the European market.
Kjeld Riegen, who leads the NEV brand Voyah at Gomes Noord, a Dutch car dealership, shared his excitement about the collaboration with Voyah, a premium segment of the Chinese Dongfeng Motor Corporation.
In an interview with Xinhua coinciding with the inauguration of Voyah's first showroom in the Netherlands, Riegen emphasized the outstanding technology and dependability of Chinese NEVs, highlighting their cost-effectiveness and attractiveness to European buyers.
"The overall image of Voyah in the Netherlands appears positive," Riegen stated, revealing that Gomes Noord plans to open three additional Voyah dealerships across the country.
"We will also be expanding into Belgium by September. The outlook seems very encouraging, especially considering our comprehensive model lineup paired with the exceptional quality of Voyah vehicles," he added.
Gomes Noord, which is also the representative for Germany's leading luxury automobile brand Mercedes-Benz in the Netherlands, has designed its new showroom to feature both Voyah and Mercedes-Benz vehicles in separate sections.
At the store's inauguration, several Dongfeng Motor NEV models made their Dutch debut. These included the Voyah concept car i-Cozy, the Mhero 1, Dongfeng Box, and Dongfeng 007.
Riegen pointed out that rigorous testing has been conducted to ensure the high quality of Voyah vehicles. "We are fully confident in the quality of Dongfeng products," he asserted.
Riegen, who recently visited China, expressed his admiration for the advancements he observed, having attended a global event hosted by Dongfeng Motor in April and experienced the innovations showcased at the Beijing Auto Show.
"It was incredibly impressive. We witnessed autonomous vehicles navigating in Wuhan and new designs from a variety of Chinese brands. The tranquil electrified traffic serves as a glimpse of our future potential as we electrify more vehicles in the Netherlands," he remarked.
He also underscored the rapid technological advancements within Chinese brands, particularly concerning autonomous driving capabilities.
Expressing firm confidence in the rising popularity of Chinese NEVs within Europe, Riegen noted their high-tech attributes, reliability, battery capacity, luxurious design, and affordability. "We are well-equipped to cater to the needs of various countries," he emphasized.
